Vehicular Ad-hoc networks (VANETs): A survey on connectivity
Urban traffic congestion is the primary obstacle that is facing nowadays cites. It is required to enhance the capacity of the roads to avoid this congestion, which represents a significant challenge. Wireless technology improves at a dizzying speed over time. People nowadays generally research the sector of telecommunications. VANET is in wireless communication research, which is the fastest-growing area. VANETs have emerged as an exciting research and application area. With the maturity and progress of the VANET, a significant transformation in the wireless communication field will occur regarding fast handovers, security, availability of the network, and safety through the employment of advanced applications, among other things. Although VANET technology is improving with time, several challenges must address for the network to become more robust. In light of the preceding, we examined and reviewed numerous research works connected to VANET connectivity, applications, security, and protocols in this study. Our focus here mainly is (connectivity). We also analyze several characteristics of network connectivity; furthermore, after reviewing written works, we appraised them and identified the benefits and drawbacks for future study and more research works. This study presents a comprehensive survey of available VANET connectivity technologies. We then offer a detailed discussion (survey table) of different categories of connectivity scenarios. If transmission’s range or vehicle’s density gets large enough, we see a significant rise in network connectivity (positive connectivity).
