Monitoring of Long Term Bridge Performance (LTBP) Program Bridges
The Long Term Bridge Performance (LTBP) Program, sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration, is currently in the pilot phase. During this phase, seven bridges distributed throughout the United States have been subjected to an initial round of of bridge performance testing. This preliminary testing was conducted to establish a baseline for comparison with future bridge testing, monitoring, and evaluation. Long term instrumentation systems have been designed and installed at these sites. This paper will focus on three of the pilot bridges. For each bridge, the preliminary testing conducted and long-term instrumentation layout will be provided.
