Effects of Rock Anisotropy on Lateral Response of Drilled Shaft
A p-y curve formulation for a transversely isotropic rock mass is briefly summarized. The results of a sensitivity analysis using this p-y criterion and LPILE program are presented. Both the orientation of the plane of transverse isotropy and the degree of anisotropy (E/E`) have shown to exert significant influences on the load deflection response of laterally loaded drilled shafts.
