This is particular so for seismic design where the subtlety of details and the rigour of seismic geometry go unnoticed and the impact of wind loads further masks any seismic innovation. This paper explores the scope for such structural expression in seismic areas in an attempt to get a sense of its potential with examples from New Zealand.
