Limited Mobility Grouting -- Past, Present, and Future
Limited mobility is a term descriptive of plastic consistency grouts which will not deform or move, absent the application of positive pressure. They are most often classified by slump, as determined by the slump cone provided in ASTM C143; but because they can be very cohesive and sticky, are not always suited for the rod tamping provided in the standard. These grouts find use in the filling of isolated voids such as in Karst, or abandoned mine workings, grouting of baseplates, forming structural shapes (piles) in soil, compaction grouting to densify soil in place, slab jacking, and grout jacking of structures.
