In the abatement of industrial pollution of streams a program based on forthrightness, tact, good will, and good faith will be found profitable. This view is derived from the writer's experience on stream sanitation while in the employ of industry and of the public. The industrial waste problem is so complex as to defy standardization. Each case requires informed handling, and actual abatement may best be secured through study of each individual case, rather than the issuance of blanket orders.
