Steel Buildings and Fire Protection in Europe
Recent trends in steel building construction in Europe are presented. The influence of improved and automatic welding equipment and the more general use of basic electrodes are noted. The behavior of steel under influence of fire and the classifications of fire danger are examined. Results of fire tests on steel buildings are presented. Conclusions drawn from tests indicate when unprotected or protected construction is required and how much protection must be provided.
