Routine Numerical Modelling in Solving Complex Soil-Structure Interaction Problems
Realistic numerical modelling could transform the way geotechnical engineers design underground structures. This paper will attempt to address the complex soil-structure interaction problems commonly faced by geotechnical engineers and the application of numerical modelling in solving such problems. Special emphasis will be given to 3D numerical modelling associated with ground movement/damage assessment and the design of raft foundations, tunnel and underground construction involving complex excavation sequence.
