Shear-Creep Behavior of Dredger Fill Silty Sands under Different Normal Pressure
In order to study the mechanical behavior of the dredger fill silty sand in Caofeidian port, a series of direct shear creep test under different normal pressure were performed. The experimental results indicate that dredger fill silty sand only shows the creep characteristics under certain shearing stress, while under low horizontal shear stress the soil sample generates almost no creep deformation, and the instantaneous deformation grows with the increase of shear load. The normal pressure has obvious influence on the dredger fill silty sand. The bigger the normal pressure, the smaller is the total creep deformation. The relationships of strain-time and strain-stress can be expressed by the power function.
