Research on the Impact of Car-Hailing on Travel Mode Choice: Evidence from Chengdu, China
In recent years, car-hailing has become a significant travel mode to satisfy urban residents’ travel demands in China. With the development of car-hailing, the modes that urban residents could choose are more diversified. Therefore, it is of great importance to clarify the influence and extent of the choice of transportation mode of residents by car-hailing to optimize the urban traffic structure. This paper focus on the influences on different traffic modes from the car-hailing. The information of residents was gathered by a survey of 1,060 valid questionnaires in Chengdu, China. The nested logit (NL) model was established to analyze the influence degree on the residents’ choices of travel modes. This paper proposed the corresponding suggestions that sufficient importance should be attached to price mechanism, sharing travel, and environment.
