Study on Risk Assessment for an Individual Landslide
Risk assessment for individual landslide is investigated in this study with the example application of Xiatudiling Landslide in the Three Gorges Reservoir. Transfer coefficient method and Monte-Carlo is used to obtain the failure probability. Meanwhile, the vulnerability is defined quantitatively as the combination of susceptibility and the landslide intensity. The vulnerable elements are divided into persons and economic elements, and influence factors of the susceptibility for each category are considered respectively. For the intensity, slipping velocity and volume of the moving mass are selected to describe the damage potential of landslide. Finally, the risk of persons and economic elements are assessed quantitatively in Xiatudiling Landslide, which may be used not only as the reference for landslide prevention but also as technical support for the early warning decision to the management department.
