A New-Type Intelligent Open Caisson Stereo Parking Garage and Its Applicability Analysis
“Parking difficulty” is a common problem in metropolitan areas. In recent years, this problem has become more and more serious in not only mega, large cities, and even medium-sized cities in China. Nowadays, to solve these problems, the development of parking garages was developing toward the direction of intelligence and three-dimension. This paper introduces a new-type intelligent stereo parking garage, which adopt the construction method of the prefabricated caisson. It realizes the process of self-service access vehicle by using the handling robot. This novel parking garage has been successfully applied in Haicang Cultural Center. Furthermore, this paper adopts the SWOT method to analyze the popularization and universal application of this garage. The intelligent stereo parking garage has the advantages of a small area, large parking quantity, intelligent access, safe, and efficient. In addition, it could realize different combination from single drum garage to multi-combination drum garage. Besides the good merits, this garage also has some problems, such as traffic streamline organization difficulty, access congestion during the rush hours. All of these will be further optimized in practical application of the next step work.
