Hubbard Glacier, North America's largest tidewater glacier, located near the isolated coastal community of Yakutat, Alaska, is currently in a state of advancement that poses a threat to resources vital to the local population. This paper will review the historical movement of Hubbard Glacier, its potential implications upon the community of Yakutat, and responses considered and pursued as part of a multi-agency effort to respond to this unusual coastal threat.
