Proposed Development of WISE Standards Products
The approval process for the development of the new Water Infrastructure Security Enhancement (WISE) Standards Committee (SC) from 2002 through 2003 is described. The complete approval process by the Environmental & Water Resources Institute (EWRI) Standards Development Council (SDC) and its EWRI governing groups is provided along with the required approval of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Codes & Standards Activities Council (CSAC). The development of the proposal for federal agency support and funding is provided. The information on the creation of three subcommittees of the WISE SC is recognized. The subcommittees are now called the Methodology & Characteristics (M&C) Subcommittee, the Water Supply (WS) Subcommittee, and the Wastewater & Stormwater Management (W&SM) Subcommittee. The estimated tasks for the pre-standards and standards development assignments for the next three years under this WISE SC for United States federal agencies is described. This brief proposal information going to the agencies should be reviewed and accepted sometime in 2003.
