Beam on Winkler Foundation Method for Piles in Laterally Spreading Soils
The paper presents application of beam on non-linear Winkler foundation method to piles in laterally spreading liquefied soils. In many cases, parameters used in the method are determined to fit particular case studies and are hardly applicable to the other separate cases, due to difficulties in the modelling of complicated phenomena with the simplified method. In this study, variation of p-y curve parameters for piles in laterally spreading liquefied soils is systematically examined by numerically analysing physical model tests undertaken by independent researchers.
