Fellow Members,—It is not my intention to trespass upon your time with along address. In the substance of the various professional papers with which I hear we shall be favored to-clay, there will undoubtedly be much more to interest you than in an address of this kind; and in their extent these papers will be quite sufficient to occupy the few hours of this day's session. Our Society, as you all know, was first formally organized in the year 1852.
