Two Bed-Load Formulas: An Evaluation
An evaluation of formulas is presented for the prediction of bed load in sand-bottomed channels. The evaluation is done by measuring both the hydraulic data needed for the formulas and the actual sediment transport rate, and comparing the predicted with the observed values. The results indicate that the Toffaleti procedure predicts the transport rate with sufficient accuracy to be useful for most engineering purposes.
