Representation of Crisp and Fuzzy Knowledge for Preliminary Structural Design
The design of reinforced concrete structures is a very complex process. Due to this complexity and due to different design behaviors of structural engineers software programs which support the task of structural design should be knowledge based and customizable. In this paper OMFEX, an environment for the development of design software, is introduced. One special feature of this environment is that it supports the use of fuzzy knowledge for an adequate representation of the structural engineer's design knowledge.
