The creation of a mostly underground extension to London’s National Maritime Museum and the renovation of the interior of one of the facility’s historically protected buildings made for an adventure worthy of any seafaring yarn, complete with the discovery of skeletons. But despite the challenges of working within an area appearing on the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization’s World Heritage List, the design team completed the project ahead of schedule and well before this summer’s Olympic Games.
