A new, 45,000 m2 building for the United Nations in København (Copenhagen), Denmark, features a highly sustainable and symbolic design that forms an eight-pointed star in plan and incorporates such environmentally responsible technologies as operable solar shading, rainwater harvesting, the use of seawater for cooling, and more than 14,000 solar panels on the roof.
