Stream Pollution in the Pacific Northwest
The problems presented by the pollution of streams and lakes in the States bordering on the North Pacific Ocean are different from those in older communities only in degree and acuteness. Much of the difficulty that has arisen is due to a feeling that streams and lakes flowing into the Pacific Ocean, and its arms, are unlimited in their capacity to absorb pollution, and that, therefore, population and industry need not seriously concern themselves in disposing of wastes which have little, if any, commercial value.
