Trickling Filtration Design and Performance
During the past two decades various formulations have been developed to describe trickling filtration performance. Most of these have been based on empirical correlations of filtration data. More recent studies have been directed toward defining trickling filtration hydraulics. From these various investigations filtration design formulations have been developed relating depth, hydraulic loading, and media characteristics. This paper attempts to statistically correlate filter performance to the aforementioned variables and to develop generalized design formulations for domestic sewage treatment based on these analyses.
