An Approximated Analytical Solution to the Problem of Single Well Pumping within an Irregular Boundary
The confined aquifer within irregular water boundary can not be evaluated with Dupuit equation. This paper intends to determine the water heads in a confined aquifer within irregular boundary when a single well is pumping water with an approximated solution and a full implementation in a numerical code. This paper also intends to give more information of the precision of the approximated analytical solution. Results indicate that the proposed equivalent analytical solution is reasonable when the pumping rate Q is very little. However when pumping rate increases to a certain value, the proposed equivalent analytical solution is not applicable.
