Geometry of Moiré Fringes in Strain Analysis
This paper shows how moire fringes can be used in the two-dimensional analysis of strains. The fundamental equations of the moire method are derived and are presented in the form of graphs by means of which strains and rotations can be obtained from simple measurements with a minimum of computation.
