An Improved Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) System for Supporting Green Building Design
In the last decades, green building has experienced a rapid development at a global scale. Although, the technologies of green building are developing fast, designers or managers often face challenges in the selection and application of green building technologies. Our research team has proposed an integrated system of text mining technique and case based reasoning (TM-CBR) for supporting green building design in the previous research. However, TM-CBR system has shortage that semantic similarity is not considered in case retrieval process. This may lead to inaccurate results by using TM-CBR system. This study introduces a new semantic similarity measure to improve the accuracy of results in the case retrieval process of TM-CBR. This method can help designers find more useful experiences from the existing green building practices.
