The Work of the Los Angeles County (California) Sanitation District
In May, 1923, the Governor of California approved an enactment known as the “County Sanitation District Act of 1923”, providing for the creation, government, and maintenance of County Sanitation Districts. The governing body of these Districts is empowered to employ engineers and other persons; to acquire real or personal property and rights of way; to issue bonds of the district; and to levy and collect assessments on ·real property.
