Incineration and Alternative Refuse Disposal Processes
Various refuse collection and disposal systems are studied in this paper. Incineration as a refuse treatment method is critically evaluated-historically, economically, and technically. The results of numerous refuse incineration studies are summarized, and a report is made of investigations on a system of high-rate incineration for optimum volume reduction. The thermodynamic considerations ·of incinerator design and operation are reviewed.
