Highway location problems are treated very broadly in this paper. Basically, the subject has been divided into two parts. The first part, dealing with physical aspects, emphasizes the dangers attendant upon locating new highways so that they follow old routes. The advantages of aerial photography are mentioned, and aerial survey methods adopted by the Texas State Highway Department are described briefly.
