Study of HMA Low Temperature Performance Using TSRST
This study is to evaluate the effects of asphalt binder and anti-rut agent on the low-temperature crack resistance of HMA. Influencing factors considered in this study include: one type of HMA, two types of asphalt binders, and an anti-rut agent at three dosages. HMA bending test of small beam at low-temperature and thermal stress restrained specimen test (TSRST) were used to evaluate material performance. Results indicate that the temperature of low end of PG has a significant effect on low temperature performance of HMA. Adding anti-rut agent can negatively affect the low-temperature crack resistance of HMA.
