The New Railway Stations at Dresden
The first railway in Saxony, and, at the same time, the first considerable railway in Germany, was that between Leipzig and Dresden, commenced in the year 1835, and opened for traffic in full length of 115 km., or 72 miles, in 1839. This railway has its terminus in Dresden-Neustadt, which, exclusively of enlargements, is still at the same place as 54 years ago. The station is situated on the right bank of the Elbe River, as marked by the letter A on Plate I.
