In this study, a new kind of doubled steel tubular pile for inner excavation method was proposed. 2 pieces of bored steel tubular pile specimens and 8 pieces of doubled steel tubular pile specimens were made and compression test was carried out. The main parameters of experiment are the end shape of steel tube, extension length of outer steel tube (OSTE length), and steel tube with or without rib. According to the experimental results, the effect of parameters on the bearing capacity and plugging effect of doubled steel tubular piles was clearly analyzed. In addition, the optimum range of OSTE length was suggested. As a result, doubled steel tubular piles have higher bearing capacity and better plugging effect than bored steel tubular piles.
