Flexible First-Story Construction for Earthquake Resistance
A method of analyzing multiple-story, steel-frame buildings to resist earthquakes, is, presented in this paper. The theory is based on a flexible first story, without attempting to draw definite conclusions regarding the relative practicability of this type of construction. The conclusions to be drawn from the evidence presented are summarized at the end of the paper.
