Research on Greenhouse Gases Emission Factors of Electricity in the Construction Stage in China
In China, construction and real estate industries produce about 40% (Yi 2013) of greenhouse gases (GHGs) every year and are major contributors to the hazy weather in China recently. For a project's construction phase, electricity consumption is a huge number and it brings large quantities of carbon emissions. Consequently, it is important to calculate the exact GHGs emissions first and take measures to reduce emissions. This article focuses on providing advisable GHGs emission factors (EFs) of electricity used in the construction stage in China by combining and adjusting current existing calculation methods and finally come out with a new method and data.
