Reconstruction of the Walpole-Bellows Falls Arch Bridge
The three-hinged, open-web, steel, arched highway bridge between the Towns of Walpole, N. H., and Bellows Falls, Vt., was one of the ·several crossings over the Connecticut River which were seriously damaged during the spring flood of 1936. For example, Fig. l(a) shows the New Hampshire end of the span, Fig. l(b) , the Vermont end; and Fig. l(c) is a detail view of the damage to the bottom chord.
