System Reliability of Cantilever Retaining Walls with Correlated Failure Modes
The reliability of a cantilever retaining wall is analyzed, for static stability conditions, as a series system with correlated failure modes. Modal correlations are analyzed. Computations performed using Monte Carlo simulations for a case example indicate the modal correlations are positive and first-order upper bound reliability approximations are applicable.
