Integration of Streets with an Expressway System
The problem of providing for traffic expansion in Atlanta, Ga., involves revising a primarily radial street pattern to provide streets bypassing the downtown area. In addition, a “screen line” of railroads surrounds the downtown area. The major street plan includes an expressway, belt routes, improve ment of radial stree ts, and a one-way traffic pattern. Government and business people are being effe ctively organized to plan and administer the program.
