Lower-Cost Canal Lining Practice
Seepage through canals and laterals, that causes loss of valuable water and water-logging of valuable farm lands, is an important problem that can best be dealt with by some manner of canal lining. This paper examines the various types of linings available. The commonly used types of canal linings are described and their respective advantages, disadvantages, and limitations are enumerated. Experimental linings, whose usefulness is still being considered, and more recent developments that are thought to be of significant interest to the field, are described herein.
