The Analysis of Relationship between Joint Deflection of JPCP and Effect Factors
Joint is the weak position in JPCP (jointed plain concrete pavement). In the position, load transfer ability and supporting ability of foundation often decline gradually with the increase of traffic times, which can lead to many distresses and cause sharp drops in the service quality of JPCP. The deflection of a joint is often the quality index used to evaluate the joint. In this paper, the model of cement concrete pavement is established in which many effect factors such as load transfer ability, base erosion size, reaction modulus in erosion area, and foundation reaction modulus are all considered. Then the deflection at the joint of slab is solved based on the theory of elastic foundation beam. Lastly, the relational degree between effect factors and defects are analyzed based on the grey system theory. Once analyzed, findings show that erosion size of the base layer is the most important factor influencing the joint deflection of the slab.
