Effects of Slip Surface Inclination on Slope Pressure Exerted on Anti-Slide Piles
The slope pressure on the load-bearing section of an anti-slide pile directly influences the internal force on the pile whereas the interior angle between the pile body and the slip surface directly affects the pressure on the load-bearing section of the pile. In the article, analyses were made employing the limit equilibrium. In addition, the finite element methods are used to investigate the variability of the magnitude and distribution characteristics of slope body horizontal pressure uphill from a pile that occurs as the inclination angle changes. A maximum value for the horizontal thrust of the uphill slope body on the pile as a function of slip surface inclination angle was found. The paper develops a calculation method to determine the relationship between the slip surface inclination angle and the maximum horizontal thrust of the slope body. Finally, the results of this analysis provide references for positioning and installing anti-slide piles in large-scale slope or landslide stabilization engineering projects.
