After floods devastated the Big Thompson River area in northern Colorado in 2013, engineers worked to restore key reaches of the watershed. Their rehabilitation efforts featured channel grading, bank stabilization, an enlarged floodplain, revegetation, and other measures designed to create a more resilient system better prepared for future floods.
