Reliability Model for Bridge Scour Analysis
This paper provides a model for the reliability analysis of bridge piers subjected to local foundation scour. The reliability analysis shows that current scour analysis models provide lower levels of safety than those observed for bridges subjected to other types of extreme events. Additional safety factors are proposed to increase current scour safety levels to acceptable levels.
