"1378 Fabricated steel forms for placing the 3-foot thick lining in the side wall section of the diversion tunnels being erected outside the upper portal of Diversion Tunnel No. 1. Workman in foreground is blowing dust from Jackhamer hole. July 14th, 1932" ; In 1931, Utah joined Six Companies Inc. to raise the surety required to bid for the Boulder (Hoover) Dam contract. One of the world’s largest dams, Hoover Dam was completed in 1936 at a cost of $49 million.
