Älykodit ovat osa nousevaa Internet of Things -teknologiaa. Älykodit tähtäävät elämän-laadun parantamiseen. Tämän tutkielman tavoitteena oli tutkia nuorten aikuisten uskomuksia ja huolia älykodin teknologiaa kohtaan. Tavoitteena oli selvittää, minkälaiset älykodin ratkaisut nähdään potentiaalisina tulevaisuudessa. Tutkimus pohjautui kvalitatiiviseen fokusryhmätutkimuk-seen. Osallistujille toimitettiin Google Forms -kyselykaavake, joka toimi tutkimuksessa kvalitatiivisena datan hankintavälineenä. Teoreettinen viitekehys koostui Internet of Things -kehityksestä, sen yhteydestä älykoteihin, älykotien historiasta, nykyisestä tilan-teesta ja älykodin teknologian tulevaisuudennäkemyksistä. ; Smart homes are part of an emerging technology called the Internet of Things (IoT). Aim of Smart homes is improving the quality of life. The aim of this study was to study the beliefs and concerns that young adults have towards smart home technology. With the goal to map out potential business opportunities of Smart homes. The research was based on a qualita-tive method using a focus group. In addition, using Google form survey distributed to the participants, it was used as a qualitative method. The theoretical framework consists of in-formation of the development of the Internet of Things and its link to Smart homes, and smart home technology, history, current situation and the future of the technology.
