Kūrybiškumui ugdyti palanki aplinka Lietuvos mokyklose / ; The surroundings benevolent for the development of creativity at Lithuanian schools.
Over recent decades creativity is investigated as a complex and multifold phenomenon in the context of a personality, society, and culture. Surroundings are recognized as a significant factor for development of creativity. The article substantiates the role of surroundings to the development of creative powers; a review on the research of the surroundings benevolent for creativity is presented there as well. Moreover, the results of the research on peculiarities of the surroundings benevolent for development of creativity at Lithuanian schools that has been carried out for the first time in Lithuania are introduced in the article. Three hundred and seventy-one pedagogues and four hundred and sixteen pupils from twelve schools have taken part in the research. The research data has showed that general context of school activity is benevolent for development of pupils’ creativity, however, there is a lack of variety in methods that develop pupils’ creativity, teachers insufficiently perceive creative powers of their pupils. Hard workload, overburdened curricula and, consequently, a lack of opportunities to act creatively are pointed out as the greatest obstacles to manifestation of creativity.
