Die Entwicklung der Trinkwasserversorgung im südlichen Sachsen-Anhalt
MALYSKA, G.: The development of drinking water supply in southern Saxony Anhalt.- Hercynia N. F. 34 (2001): 33-51. The author describes the development of drinking water in southern Saxony Anhalt, from individual supplies to central water systems supplying the population in this area. The author also discusses aspects of quality and factors affecting the quality of the drinking water from individual sources andthe central supply facilities. The results of the investigation show that the quality of the drinking water in central drinking water supply systems has improved considerably since 1989. This refers mainly to the nitrate content in the water of these systems. The drinking water in central drinking water supply systems contains no toxic substances, such as heavy metals, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, halogenated hydrocarbons, orplant treatment or insecticidal substances. Still causing concern is the high frequency with which the limit concentrations of iron and manganese and the parameters turbidity and coloration of the water in central water supply systems is exceeded.
