Analisa Pengaruh Arang Aktif Kayu Sengon (Paraserianthes Falcataria (L.) Nielsen) Sebagai Komposisi Fuel Propelan Padat pada Bahan Bakar Roket
The development of rocket technology is the reason for making research on solid propellants as rocket fuel. Sengon wood activated charcoal was chosen because of the large amount of wood waste. This study aims to determine the effect of activated charcoal of sengon wood on the value of thrust and the specific value of solid propellant impulses as parameters to determine the quality of solid propellants. solid propellant is made with the composition of potassium nitrate as an oxidizer and sengon wood activated charcoal as fuel. The composition was varied based on the volume of solid propellant with various percentage compositions between potassium nitrate - sengon wood activated charcoal (55% -45%), (60% -40%), (65% -35%), (70% -30%), (75% -25%). The test results of solid propellant composition of sengon wood activated charcoal and potassium nitrate are the more precise the percentage between potassium nitrate and sengon wood activated charcoal, the better the quality of a solid propellant.
