Medford District proposed resource management plan and final environmental impact statement (Volume I) ; Medford District proposed resource management plan/environmental impact statement; Final Medford District proposed resource management plan/EIS
I 1.98:M 46/ v.1 ; 544 ; "BLM/OR/WA/ES-94/35+1792" P. [2] of cover.; Twelve maps on 12 folded leaves in separate envelope.; Includes ill. and some col. maps.; Includes bibliographical references and index. ; "This Proposed Resource Management Plan and Final Environmental Impact Statement, in combination with the Draft, addresses management of some 859,100 acres of public land surface and 4,700 acres of subsurface federal mineral estate administered by the Bureau of Land Management in the Medford District, Oregon. Seven alternatives, including a No Action Alternative (no change from the current plan), are analyzed. These alternatives range in emphases from production of timber resources and other commodity values to management and enhancement of values such as biological diversity, northern spotted owl habitat, old growth forest, dispersed recreation opportunities, areas of critical environmental concern, and scenic resources. The Proposed Resource Management Plan responds to the need for a healthy forest ecosystem with habitat that will support native species (particularly those associated with late-successional and old growth forest) and includes protection for riparian areas and waters. It also responds to the need for a sustainable supply of timber and other forest products that will help maintain the stability of local and regional economies, and contribute valuable resources to the national economy, on a predictable and long-term basis." P. [4].
