CO2 Absorption: Conventional and Unconventional Methods
It is well known that there is a highly increasing concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Human activities such as cattle raising and construction are affecting the ecosystem by altering the atmospheric composition. The development of feasible technologies to control and capture CO2 emissions are of paramount interest in the field of applied sciences. There are natural ways to capture CO2, which can be used in the construction of buildings, generally using external layers of CO2 sequestering materials in such buildings. In the same way, conventional and unconventional technologies for CO2 control can be observed in industrial processes. Currently, researchers are studying new techniques for the application of absorption methods in smart materials that could be a sustainable alternative in the activity of CO2 absorption. A great way to start studying absorption of CO2, could be reviewing the literature and analyze the different existing methods of CO2 capture.
