The project for the urban landscape This dossier opens up an observatory in the magazine Urbanistica aimed to find the Italian production of plans, projects and policies on the landscape. The intention is that to reconnect a track, apparently stopped today, by exposing the works and thoughts of some schools in recent years have continued to revise a position on the Italian reflexive project planning for the landscape. The Italian landscape is known worldwide for its natural beauty and the unique historical and cultural heritage that still make it recognizable traces of a long process of shaping society and between territories. If the materials of this landscape is still largely visible, more evanescent is the culture with which it is understood today, and that inspired the recent reforms. Faced with a huge international success of the concept of landscape, the identification of new areas of research, the realization of projects which identify the skills of a specific skill, in Italy seems to have lost, for a time, a line of thought and a framework professional. In a recent past it had been able to critically placed between the weight of a traditional operation, which has always bent and adapted processes of nature to the production of wealth and prosperity and the construction of policies for the transformation of a territory that started to modernize.
