Master research work analyzes contemporary architect’s role, most common practices of architectural activism, legal methods to ensure a united architectural style (integrity) and reviews criteria for quality environment based on user experiences. The conclusion summarizes, what role leading architect should take and which design methods (tools) should be used in complex environments. For creative part, a complex garages area in Palanga was chosen. Based on research conclusion, during the territory conversion, architect acts as a process moderator. In design part, Architectural guidelines for the conversion of the territory are developed and proposed. At the end of design, architectural guidelines are tested. The goal of the creative part is to answer, whether the architect, acting as a moderator and using the tools of architectural activism, can ensure the united architectural style in complex environments.
